My Origin Story

I got stabbed in the left arm two weeks ago. It hurt, but it wasn’t that serious. My arm was sore and I was really tired that night, but I recovered OK. It happened again today. Same arm and everything. Once I could write off as a fluke, but not twice, so I demanded an explanation from the person who stabbed me. She told me that in two weeks, I will develop superpowers. Apparently I will be able to gather with other people who have been stabbed, and even hug those people. She went on to explain that eventually, I might even gain the power to breathe in public without a mask.

I don’t understand the science behind it. I thought the Super-Soldier Serum corrupted whoever used it. I’ve been tested for the Meta-gene and I don’t have it. I’m guessing that radiation or rocks from an alien planet were involved, but I guess that’s not really important. The important thing is that I will soon have superpowers. I understand the responsibility that comes with powers. I’m glad I have two weeks to decide how to use them in the best way.

I don’t know why Destiny chose me, but I accept the charge. I will use my powers for good. It is a little bit of a letdown that my abilities only work with other enhanced people, but this is real life, not some movie. Maybe, if we’re lucky, there will come a day when every one of us is special.

  1. Congrats on your super powers! I’m in the process of developing mine, but I still have a few weeks to go before I get my second dose of Super Soldier Serum.
