I successfully completely my goal of a post a day for the month of December. Overall I think it went pretty well. I’m not proud of everything I wrote, but I wrote every day and I hit every deadline. The site had 646 views by 360 individuals. I don’t normally pay any attention to those sorts of numbers, but it sounds pretty decent to me.
One odd thing is that my least favorite post, Nothing To Talk About, got a fair amount of views and my favorite post, The Best Christmas Gift Ever, didn’t do well at all. I guess it goes to show that I’m as lousy as I thought at promotion. That’s probably something I should try to get better at this year.
For the year, we had 6,134 views from 4,030 individuals. Again, I have nothing to compare it to, but that feels solid. Jamil had the highest performing post with There Was Always A Better Plan. My best performers were the pieces I wrote at the end of 2016 about A Christmas Carol. I find that surprising.
December was good practice. For 2018, my goal is to take my writing more seriously. I want to make sure I write almost every day (Not post, just write). I’d like to get better at promoting what I do write. And I want to try to get something published. I’m not one for resolutions, but this one feels right. So, I’ll give it a shot and we’ll see what happens.
