The Eleventh First Day of School

It’s that time of year again. I don’t take first-day-of-school pictures or make any kind of fuss about it, but I do record my thoughts and feeling here each year. This year we’re on to 10th grade. My kid’s a sophomore.

Like last year, I don’t have too much to say. I’m not feeling much of anything. Last year was a comparatively good school year, so I hope we can keep that going. I’m also not thinking much of anything. I have my usual reservations about school in general, but I haven’t taken the time to parse those out to see what’s real and what’s not.

So, I’ll keep this short and sweet. I’m posting for the sake of tradition, but I’m not thinking or feeling much of anything about this year’s first day of school. Exciting stuff, isn’t it?
